An independent research organisation working at the intersection of food systems, data science, knowledge engineering and responsible innovation.
Mission
Metraltus develops scientific and methodological frameworks for representing food products and food systems without separating data from their territorial, ecological, cultural, social and legal contexts. Our work explores multidimensional food identity, ontologies, knowledge graphs, responsible artificial intelligence and evidence-based certification.
Research posture
We distinguish concepts, protocols, prototypes, empirical findings, validation and deployment. Public communication reflects the real maturity of each result. Formal models are assessed for logical consistency, but technical coherence does not replace field validation, legal review or participation by the communities concerned.
Metraltus is especially attentive to African food systems and to the risks of transferring models without regard for infrastructure, language, local knowledge, data sovereignty or the diversity of production and marketing practices.
